If you installed a gas appliance without a liner, due to the temperature of the flue gases (lower than solid fuel) the emissions would struggle to exit via the flue terminal. If you install the appliance following the manufacturers instructions, you cannot go wrong. Well if it fits in your dishwasher with top rack out then that works great, or if there just too large, try soaking in a home made pan of dishsoap concentrate, I made a pan large enough to fit some from a nasty ole commercial stove out of an ole tarp that I had covering up the wood pile (the wood didn't mind ) and piled a few things laying about under its edge to form a shallow pool in the yard then a bit of water from the ole hose and lots of good strong dish soap, a few hours gone by soaking and it hoses right off, yuk and all!! On most US ovens the high temp is 550f and the lowest is around 100f for warm. I would imagine 1 is warm and 5 is 550f so 2 would be 250 3 would be 325 4 would be 425. Or you could say ribs and slow cooking 2, cake 3, cornbread 4, and 5 would be broil. The only way to know is set each number and place an oven thermostat in there to see what the temp is fer each number. These should all be available on a stainless steel or aluminum attached plate, probably on the back of the stove or inside the door.
