Very nice tutorial! I wish I would have found something this concise when I was first learning how to use particles.
I have always wondered, for decals and things would it be best to make a particle for it? Let's say I have an open world game that you can travel freely in with no room changing very often.
If you went back to a patch of enemies you had made a bloody mess out of say an hour ago and wanted to see the blood still there, would it still be good to use a particle system or use something like surfaces? I'm very familiar with particles in GMS but I haven't worked too much with surfaces.
